Doyle Beneby Promoted to President of Exelon Power

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. -  (May 28, 2010) Doyle N. Beneby, of Glen Mills, Pa., has been promoted to president, Exelon Power and senior vice president, Exelon Generation, Christopher M. Crane, president and chief operating officer of Exelon Corp. and president of Exelon Generation, announced today.


Beneby had been senior vice president of Exelon Power since March, 2009.  Beneby will report to Chip Pardee, who has been promoted to chief operating officer of Exelon Generation.


As president of Exelon Power, Beneby is responsible for the operations of about 8,000 megawatts of natural gas, coal, hydroelectric and solar generation in five states.


A veteran of the electric industry with over 25 years of experience, Beneby has held several leadership positions with Exelon Power and PECO since joining Exelon in 2003.  Beneby has also held positions with Consumers Energy in Michigan and Florida Power & Light.


Beneby earned a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Montana Technical College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami.


Beneby serves on the Board of Trustees for Lincoln University and is a member of the National Hydro Association (NHA) CEO Council, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Research Advisory Council and American Association of Blacks in Energy.  He also serves as an executive sponsor of Exelon African American Members Association - East (EAAMA).
