AABE Mourns the Passing of Dorothy Height

April 20, 2010

The American Association of Blacks in Energy mourns the passing of Dr. Dorothy Height. Dr. Height will always be remembered for her sacrifices and leadership in the civil rights movement. She devoted her life to the belief that African Americans and all people should be treated fairly and that no one should suffer injustices. She led the National Council for Negro Women for 40 years and served as National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for 10 years. Dr. Height was the moral conscious of our communities and our presidents. We are thankful for and blessed by her work. We offer our condolences to her family and friends.
