We are looking for a dynamic individual to be part of our System Operations team within our Operations Division. The System Operations department is responsible for the administration of existing distributed generation policies, point of delivery policies, and compliance for two power agencies.
The Power Delivery Engineer’s duties will include but are not limited to:
• Administer Power Contracts and Project Agreements, to include costs review, compliance of obligations and resolution of disputes with the investor-owned utility, members, and participants.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call team that monitors the Power Agencies’ load and provides for load management recommendations and operation of generators.
• Maintain and review NERC compliance standards that are applicable to the ElectriCities JRO, editing NERC compliance procedures, providing NERC compliance updates and training to members.
• Provide project management skills for municipal projects, to include project planning and scheduling, specifications development, management of engineering and legal consultants, financial analysis, presentations and workshops for city council representatives and utility personnel.
Qualified candidates should possess:
• A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent industry work experience.
• Five or more years’ experience in the electric utility industry in the field of transmission or distribution, with engineering economics and rates knowledge.
• Proven ability to accept responsibility, provide outstanding customer service and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to analyze alternative solutions and provide recommendations.
• Ability to confidently represent the Power Agency and ElectriCities and speak knowledgeably on all aspects of the organization’s purpose and functions.
