Your primary goal: provide premium customer service that supports the growth and retention of Consumers Energy's business customer segment. As the principal contact for assigned accounts, you’ll accomplish this by developing and managing the customer value management relationship with a group of our largest electric and natural gas users, meeting their needs in terms of pricing, service and business solutions. This includes the promotion and expansion of Consumers Energy as a full-service energy and energy services provider.
Related responsibilities will include:
- Building and managing relationships with key customer contacts
- Interacting with the appropriate internal operating groups to satisfy customer needs and expectations
- Negotiating mutually favorable outcomes with regard to policy, operating guidelines, billings, credit and collections, service disruptions/interruptions and other critical aspects of the relationship
Developing opportunities to turn customer satisfaction into additional sales of energy products and related services
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; degree in Business, Marketing or other relevant field also considered
- Background in Energy Management and/ or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is highly desired
- Utility related experience with customer contact responsibilities, including experience with rates, accounting, and engineering is preferred
- Technical understanding of gas and electric operations is also preferred, along with a working knowledge of how the electric distribution and transmission systems function and relate in a deregulated environment.
- Ability to maintain and develop teams, work collaboratively and independently
- Sales experience coupled with strong communication, people and problem solving skills
- Willingness to travel across company's service territory
