The American Association for the Advancement of Science is the world’s largest general scientific society, dedicated to advancing science for the benefit of all people, and publisher of the Science family of journals. AAAS is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2016-17 S&T Policy Fellowships year.
Policy fellowships provide engineers with the unique professional development opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to national and international issues in the federal policy realm. Fellows serve yearlong assignments in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the federal government in Washington, DC.
S&T Policy fellows represent a broad array of science and engineering fields. Fellows share an interest and commitment to public service, a desire to learn about science and technology policy, and a willingness to apply their engineering background in new arenas. Applicants with an engineering background are in high demand.
Engineers who have solid scientific and technical credentials, demonstrate a commitment to public service, strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, good judgment, flexibility, and leadership qualities, are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Doctoral-level degree (PhD) in any engineering or scientific discipline OR Master’s in engineering with 3 years of professional engineering related experience.
-US citizenship.
STIPEND & BENEFITS:
- $75,000–$100,000.
- Health insurance, travel/training relocation allowances.
