Join our Environmental and Technical Services Dept. and help us monitor air emissions at the Karn-Weadock Generating Complex in Essexville, MI.
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and calibration of the site’s newly installed mercury
Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) equipment and other CEMS equipment, you will monitor air emissions such as NOx, SO2, Particulate Matter, Mercury, etc., as required under State and Federal Air Regulations. Utilizing an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate scientific/technical theory, you will analyze complex problems, recommend alternatives, and take corrective action to generate accurate and usable outcomes
Performing a variety of complex tasks and technical work requiring ingenuity, duties include:
- Evaluation of test or survey results; possibly directing the compilation of internal or government required reports
- Troubleshooting more complex equipment and/or computer systems
- Developing detailed engineering plans and specifications for the design of complex facilities and equipment
- Directing the preparation of work orders and time and material cost estimates for review by Company engineers
- Conducting field investigations, establishing various procedures
- Leading or training lower-level employees
Qualifications for this position include:
- Typically 1-1/2+ years of working experience as a Technician II
- Familiarity with electric generating plant operation and systems is desired
- Broad hands-on technical skill with ability to perform a variety of complex tasks and technical work
- Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition equipment and software desired
