The City of Denton, Texas is seeking a strong, competent, and highly ethical professional with proven management, analytical, and problem-solving skills to be the General Manager of Electric Utilities. Denton Municipal Electric (DME) is Denton's hometown electric provider and has been serving the greater Denton area since 1905. It is the 6th largest municipally owned utility in Texas with a 353-megawatt peak load. DME has 197 positions authorized in the FY 2016-17 and the budgeted revenues for FY 2016/17 are $176.9 million and expenditures are $173.4 million. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field; and seven years of professional experience in the electric or other utility industry or in top city management, which should include three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Exciting challenges include the construction of a 225 MW energy center and the operation of the Energy Management Organization.
