New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of NJR is seeking a Sr. Compliance Engineer to develop, maintain and track Pipeline Safety Compliance activities as defined under US DOT and NJ State guidelines for safe operation of natural gas pipelines.
Major Responsibilities:
•Periodically perform audits of company Pipeline Safety Compliance activities including liquid natural gas (LNG) and new construction
•Provide guidance and assist in improving compliance programs such as operator qualification, steel pipe welding and plastic pipe fusion
•Implement programs to effectively track pipeline safety programs and compliance activities
•Assist distribution, transmission integrity and public awareness teams in identifying areas of improvement
•Provide coaching to operations, engineering and contractor team in effectively handling pipeline safety regulations
•Complete post incident investigation in line with regulatory requirements
•Perform continuous improvement reviews of company work practices and standards to reflect regulatory compliance and industry best practices
•Represent Company during regulatory (State/Federal) compliance inspections
•Ensure (spell out here this acronym) NJAC and Department of Transportation (DOT) reports are accurate and submitted as required
•Monitor regulatory changes and proposed changes and ensure the appropriate company response
•Track company pipeline operations data such as excavation damage, leaks, corrosion and other reportable metrics in line with DIMP requirements
•Track the progress of non-regulatory mandates such as pipeline safety management systems and conduct reviews of various interactive programs
•Perform pipeline operations safety GAP assessments and recommend improvements
•Participate in Energy Delivery P&M committee
Position Specifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering required and may be credited towards cumulative work experience.
•At least seven years of experience working in Pipeline Safety responsible position, and related work activities.
•Must complete company defined Operator Qualification requirements.
•Other pipeline safety training certificates may also be considered towards work experience.
