The Clean Energy Advisory Team is at the core of NYPA’s strategic VISON2030 to be the utility of the future. Reporting to the Manager, Clean Energy Advisory Services, this role is pivotal with originating and developing innovative distributed energy resources (DERs) that the Team is tasked with. The Project Manager will work to identify solutions for clean energy projects by collaborating with customers, utilities, renewable energy developers, and government funding agencies.
The Project Manager position is responsible for managing key strategic NYPA projects and programs aimed at achieving organizational commitments towards New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (“CLCPA) goals.
The Project Manager DER Advisory will develop, manage, and implement renewable energy, distributed generation projects including solar PV, energy storage, and smart grid projects at NYPA customer sites across the State.
Responsibilities
Manage development and implementation of projects in the clean energy space (solar PV, battery storage and additional renewables) within the Renewables Program.
Prepare budget proposals, project scheduling and project reporting, and manage consultants and contractors on clean energy project.
Develop proposals on a project and program basis for individual customers along with reviewing economic impact and pro-forma analyses to measure savings and value from the projects.
Engage in customer outreach and education to build relationships with customers as the lead representative on projects.
Leverage in-house expertise with industry knowledge and experience to provide solutions to NYPA’s core business and its customers.
Oversee the negotiation of project agreements between NYPA and its customers and collaborate with Legal and Strategic Supply Management departments on complex agreements.
Represent NYPA on outreach efforts regarding Renewable energy offerings, including speaking at conferences and webinars.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and other partners in evaluating technical and economic merit of each project and deliver presentations for senior leadership and at Board of Directors’ meetings, as needed.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 5 years of business relevant work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy program development and clean energy project management.
