As part of the Enterprise Project Management Office, the Project Manager is viewed as a project management expert and is responsible for promoting the development and assimilation of a project management culture throughout the enterprise. Specifically, you will develop the effective use and application of project management tools and methodologies to yield optimized project scope, cost and schedule resulting in predictable project outcomes for the organization, for both large, complex projects as well as smaller, scaled projects.
The Project Manager is expected to increase the company's core competency in project management through:
- Providing leadership and direction to define and build the capabilities
- Assisting Project Managers in career development through coaching and mentoring
- Enhancing and maintaining the corporate Project Management Methodology (PMM)
- Managing the company-wide Project Management training curriculum and learning programs
- Driving the development of department specific project management processes
- Performing Project Health Checks, Project Reviews and Project Management process assessments
- Performing benchmarking and networking to ensure best practice alignment
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is preferred, but must be obtained within three years of hire
- 10+ years of progressive applicable experience, including experience managing all sizes of projects; at least 5 years of successful large project and/or program management experience
- Deep knowledge and understanding of project management principles and practices (PMBOK)
- Demonstrated leadership experience, ability to set direction, and drive teams to meet objectives
- Experience working in an IT Project Management Office and/or an Enterprise Project Management Office is preferred
- Electric and/or gas utility experience is desired
