Understand, communicate, execute tasks (e.g. provide input, review, coordinate, etc.), and/or implement specific elements of the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA’s) Asset Management System as defined in Business Unit Policies and Procedures established to support NYPA’s Asset Management Policy CP XX-X and NERC Reliability Standards Compliance program as defined in Utility Operations Business Unit Policies and Procedures established to support Corporate Policies CP 10-4 and CP 2-9. Provide leadership, motivation and collaboration which are critical for successful asset management and NERC Reliability Standards Compliance.
Support the development and implementation of construction and maintenance work plans to support annual portfolio ranging from $50M - $150M annually (capital and O&M approximate).
Administer the Region’s work schedule for each crew supported; this includes implementing the weekly schedule for a minimum of six to twelve weeks in advance, coordinating with the Planners to assess scope and bundling opportunities, verifying that the required labor estimates and accounting are accurate on all scheduled tasks, coordinating scheduled activities with other organizations as needed and modifying, changing, and updating the schedule prior to execution.
Schedule work activities and resources to support work plans, construction projects, and maintenance work to maintain high levels of equipment reliability. Identify critical equipment for maintenance; prioritize work by due dates and faults/operations records.
Develop and maintain manpower estimates, equipment and material delivery requirements (compilation, analysis and summary).
Monitor material status reports against construction schedules and review them with Lead Planner, Project Managers and Superintendents.
Contribute to summary level dashboards and/or other special reports to the project team to support informed decision-making and effective management of the project
Contribute to the development and execution of mitigation plans for regulatory short falls.
Participate in the effort for developing schedules that will create proposed outage dates to Operations per NYISO requirements. Outage coordination for daily, weekly, annual and long-term outages.
Develop junior level planners to assist in the long- and short-range schedules for project delivery, maintenance and outage requirements.
Assist in supporting the Asset Management (AM) processes for data and provide input to AM to get consistency in Maximo data with regards to short- and long-range planning.
Review resources to be utilized on Work Orders by developing and providing credible estimates including labor, materials, duration, crew size, and contracted work costs for both capital and O&M work.
Utilize previous Maximo information to develop better estimates working with the maintenance planners, supervisors and construction managers.
Develop and submit “OKs to Work” and clearances to the operations department as required.
