Working within the Regulatory Compliance Testing Section of Laboratory Services, you will conduct air emissions and audit testing for various facility combustion sources and Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) for gaseous emissions, Volumetric Flow, and Mercury. This will include PM CEMS Correlation tests and monitoring Filterable and Condensable Particulate Emissions and Hazardous Airborne Pollutants at coal-fired boilers and natural gas fired turbines and compressor engines.
Related responsibilities will include:
- Drafting written reports, procedures and protocols
- Conducting power plant equipment performance testing, AQCS performance optimization and precipitator inspections
- Supervising maintenance staff, as necessary
- Technical consulting to the power generation plant environmental and engineering staffs
Qualifications for this position include:
- An Associate’s degree in Engineering Applied Sciences or a related field
- Typically up to 6 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with 40CFR Parts 51, 60, 63 and 75 air quality regulations and test methods is highly desired
- Availability for 50% travel to various Consumers Energy facilities around the lower peninsula of Michigan, with varied work hours
- Ability to work in confined spaces, under all temperature conditions, and with some heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) required
The position may be filled at either the Campbell Generating site or the Karn-Weadock Generating site.
