Edison Electric Institute (EEI), one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Attorney. The Senior Attorney will analyze a broad range of energy, environmental, legal and policy issues. The Senior Attorney will have expertise in applicable federal laws and regulations, monitor key agency activities, and alert EEI staff and members to new developments. The Senior Attorney will work closely with EEI lawyers, staff and members in developing EEI strategies, positions and supporting advocacy papers and comments filed with state and federal regulatory agencies. The Senior Attorney will also be responsible for supporting EEI’s appellate litigation efforts.
Requirements
This job requires a JD from an ABA accredited institution and good standing as a member of a qualified Bar. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience addressing administrative law at the federal or state levels. Experience with energy or environmental policy and regulation is preferred. The ability to work well with and to promote consensus among large groups is required. Clear, concise writing and excellent oral communication skills are essential.
