New Jersey Resources is seeking a Sr. Counsel to provide legal services to the New Jersey Resources (NJR) Service Corporation and its affiliates, including NJR Clean Energy Ventures Corporation.
Major Responsibilities:
Support all aspects of the corporations solar and other renewable energy businesses by working with business units engaged in residential and commercial solar and other renewable energy project development and operations to draft and negotiate membership interest purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, power purchase agreements, site leases, licenses, easements, engineering procurement and construction contracts, interconnection agreements, warranties, operations and maintenance agreements and other related contracts
Manage local, state and federal regulatory and permitting approvals
Prepare FERC regulatory compliance and other filings, including QF self-certifications, EWG and MBR approvals, and PUHCA filings
Work with and oversee outside counsel as appropriate, including on matters before FERC and state public utility commissions
Complete other projects as assigned by the Assistant General Counsel or the Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Position Specifications:
Juris Doctor degree with a license to practice law in New Jersey and federal courts is required
Working knowledge of clean energy incentive programs in NJ, NY, PA, CT, RI, MD, and/or DC, a plus
Minimum of seven or more years of experience in project development (including real property matters) and general contracts, and FERC and CFTC electric regulatory practice
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word required
Strong interpersonal skills a must
