Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to advance your career by becoming one of our subject matter experts (SMEs) for our power generation equipment assets?
Functioning as the technical authority within our Equipment Services division, you will work closely with and provide technical direction and consultation to the major OEM hired to erect six large hydro pumped storage generators over multiple years. Your major responsibility: overseeing the site construction of the generators from manufactured sub-components, through erection and testing, and final commissioning.
Scope of responsibilities will include:
- Managing the construction of multiple generators and associated equipment and records
- Coordinating with project managers, Engineering Services personnel, plant engineers, outage managers, other electrical services departments, A/Es, contractors and vendor representatives
- Performing plant equipment inspections and interfacing with O&M personnel and contractors; inspecting components in supplier shops
- Promoting best-practices through EPRI, IEEE, ASME, and various other codes, standards, and technical and research groups
- Improving Safety, Quality and Equipment and Plant Reliability
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (emphasis on Power preferred) and 7 years of related experience OR an Associates degree in a related field with 9 years of related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of generator construction, high voltage insulating systems and generator acceptance testing
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical industry codes, standards and best practices
- Exceptional communication, analytical, decision making and leadership skills
- Ability to work with people at all levels in a team environment and capable of working through difficult issues and achieving positive outcomes, while maintaining and fostering sound working relationships
- Availability for approx. 25% in-state travel, with occasional out-of-state travel; willingness to work nights, weekends and overtime as need
