As a senior market research analyst, you'll be responsible for bringing the voice of the customer and the voice of the utility to in-house research experts and E Source members. We're seeking an insights professional with a solid foundation in statistics and quantitative and qualitative analysis who can scope and design research projects, manage all research project activities, is comfortable partnering across teams to analyze and translate complex data into compelling stories, and can nurture relationships through day-to-day interaction.

Responsibilities:
Provide project leadership and project management, including for consulting projects and market research engagements
Scope and design research projects with internal and external stakeholders
Design and administer questionnaires
Manage sampling, recruitment, and fielding
Analyze complex data, identify key findings, and make actionable recommendations
Establish and perform data quality assurance checks
Create engaging market research deliverables
Present results to stakeholders and clients
Identify innovative market research methodologies, new ways of solving complex client business problems, and scale proven client solutions
Mentor and train team members and junior staff
Synthesize insights across studies and teams and across utilities, including work on consulting projects, particularly in areas of expertise
Identify innovative ways to drive efficiency in our processes
Requirements:
Is a thought leader in at least one area of market research or customer insights
Leads or contributes to project teams; identifies clients needs and provides market research insights to support internal decision-making
Has strong listening skills, with the ability to identify underlying business questions and recommend appropriate survey methodology and design
Has strong communication skills; sets clear expectations, communicates regularly with internal and external clients regarding project milestones and status, delivers on established deadlines, and communicates research results in an easy to understand manner
Can independently design questionnaires for quantitative and qualitative studies
Has experience with sampling techniques and requirements for statistical confidence and precision
Can identify proper analyses and testing, create project analysis plans, conduct reliable data analysis without supervision, and evaluate data analysis of self and others (including vendors)
Can synthesize and disseminate complex data
Has a strong background in probability and statistics
Adheres to market research standards regarding personally identifiable information (PII) and privacy
Has strong writing and research skills; can synthesize information to create actionable, succinct data-driven stories; independently writes internal and external market research reports
Is detail oriented; can manage multiple work streams and independently prioritize work based on department needs and objectives
Has a natural curiosity, a can-do attitude, and comfort with ambiguity
Has a flair for nurturing and building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
Is flexible, proactive, a self-starter, entrepreneurial, and willing to innovate

Education and experience:
Graduate degree or equivalent years of experience in the industry preferred
6 to 8 years of relevant experience conducting business-to-business or business-to-customer market research, preferred
Expertise in at least one area, with the ability to consult on other topical areas
Experience in energy industry preferred
Superior quantitative analytical techniques such as regression and factor analysis preferred
Superior qualitative methodologies, including ethnographic research, is a plus
Experience with SPSS; Qualtrics; Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and data visualization tools preferred
Experience with R and Python is a plus
Experience extracting and transforming data from relational databases (e.g., Oracle or SQL Server) is a plus
Experience with graphic design software is a plus
