Accordingly, Southwest has created the position of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Leader, and seeks to recruit a talented and experienced individual to lead the development and implementation of proactive DE&I initiatives and goals.
The DE&I Leader engages with the Executive Leadership Team, and leaders throughout the business, to develop and implement DE&I strategies, programs, policies and metrics. Responsibilities include assessing potential barriers, developing business-integrated strategies and objectives, and facilitating accountable plans and action at all levels. The goal is to successfully engage, develop, retain and attract a diverse workforce, fostering inclusion throughout the organization.
This position will play an integral role with our communities and our employees to promote Southwest values (Safety, Quality, Excellence, Partnership, Stewardship & Value). The Leader will exemplify and model what personal integrity and respect for all people looks like at Southwest.
This position requires eight to ten years of professional experience, including at least three years working in the field of racial and gender equity, gender/diversity inclusion, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), social justice, and/or racial/gender policy development. Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, human resources, administration, cross cultural communication, organizational development, diversity management, or a related field; Master's degree in a related field is desirable.
Salary commensurate with experience.
