Michaels Energy is seeking an engineer to support delivery of an energy efficiency program in the Denver, Colorado area. This position will provide engineering and educational support for large commercial and industrial facilities.
Technical tasks include assisting customers with implementing strategic energy management plans, conducting building investigations to assist customers with identifying and implementing energy saving measures, and analyzing energy savings using statistical regression modeling techniques.
In addition to the engineering work described above, this role will assist with current client management. This position will collaborate with a small team focused on our work in Colorado. It fulfills an immediate need for engineering support for existing projects.

Led monthly customer calls to track the status of customer efficiency measure implementation

Completed customer site visits independently
Created regression models to quantify energy savings achieved by customers
Completed at least two technical energy efficiency reports for customers
Qualifications
Four-year degree, preferably in mechanical, chemical, or building systems engineering
2-5 years’ experience combining any of the following: Energy efficiency industry – e.g., utilities or performance contracting HVAC operations, controls, and/or building energy investigations Utility program experience in retro-commissioning, ASHRAE level 2 energy audits, or custom rebate calculations
Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred but not required
Able to communicate complicated ideas to a variety of audiences
Lifetime self-learner
Deep interest in energy, systems, and process efficiency, and improving productivity
Travel
20% - 25% local travel for site visits and customer meetings
Occasional overnight travel to customer sites and company headquarters
