New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Field Supervisor to supervise the daily operating activities for field personnel as they relate to maintaining the New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) distribution system.
Major Responsibilities:
•Ensure the proper and efficient scheduling, performance and completion of system maintenance and repair to maintain integrity of the division distribution system
•Ensure leak surveys are scheduled and conducted with trained personnel to meet compliance requirements; ensure all documentation is accurate
•Make necessary recommendations for pipe replacement to ensure cathodic protection; assure division field personnel are provided with necessary tools, materials, supplies and equipment that have been properly maintained
•Schedule and deploy personnel to cover daily workflow according to the needs of the territory
•Assure the prompt and effective handling of appropriate emergency work requests
•Maintain security and proper maintenance of all company buildings and property located at the division service center
•Maintain operations and capital expenditures within or below approved budget
•Maintain overtime expenses according to the approved budget
•Collaborate with team members to develop efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement
•Calculate costs for services provided, and provide alternatives when necessary
•Coach team members and provide feedback in developing technical skills and maintaining safe practices on the job
•Ensure the timely completion of all required compliance work
Position Specifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or a minimum of three years of experience in a public utility operations or a related field, or the combined equivalent and experience
•Exerting up to 20lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
•The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
•The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
•The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
