- Lead engagement with IT stakeholders, business management, and other strategic partners to support the design, development, and deployment of enterprise IT solutions in a multi-cloud environment.
- Maintain ownership of the design and architecture of the company’s multi-cloud environment.
- Set infrastructure standards and drive toward automation for cloud and on-premise environments.
- Works to understand current issues with scalability and performance of all cloud workloads and develops roadmaps for upgrades and enhancements to support future needs.
- Works to optimize cloud workloads by determining required resources and upsizes or downsizes workloads as appropriate.
- Research, evaluate, and determines appropriate cloud service (IaaS or Paas) to meet the needs of future workloads.
- Lead architectural discussions with various technical teams to understand technical and business requirements to develop optimal cloud architectures and patterns.
- Collaborates with the PMO to develop project plans, milestones, and deliverables for enterprise IT initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and innovations that will support CLEAResult’s digital and data platforms as well as legacy technologies.
- Work in a highly collaborative fashion with other members of the IT team to understand future state needs and responds with the appropriate cloud infrastructure design to meet those needs.
- Provide technical leadership to design and implement automated solutions that reduce toil and increase efficiency.
- Drive team’s adoption of new tools and techniques.
- Lead root cause analysis of system failures and develop remediation plans to prevent future outages.
- Function as an SME for the authoring and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs).
- Ensures team is following technical guidelines, security needs, and design patterns aligned to the technical architecture and strategy.
- Adheres to IT Service Management controls including change management, incident management, etc.
- Designs, deploys, and optimizes cloud storage solutions and back-up infrastructure.
- Promote the sharing of infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flow. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other or from business and IT strategies.
- On-call and after-hours support as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expert level knowledge of Containerization and Orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Expert level knowledge in automating and provisioning cloud-based infrastructure in AWS and Azure
- Expert knowledge of CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Cloudformation.
- Expert knowledge of AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS) and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Expert level knowledge of Windows and/or Linux Systems.
- Excellent knowledge of AD and ADFS and/or Directory Services (e.g. AD connect, Managed AD, Simple AD).
- Excellent knowledge of at least one cloud-based Identity Provider (e.g. Azure AD, Okta).
- Expert level scripting skills with multiple languages (e.g. Terraform, PowerShell, Go, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple technologies driving to rapid resolution.
- Able to lead discussions on the merits and challenges of boundaries (e.g. multi-VPC, multi-account) in hybrid multi-cloud environments.
- Have an in-depth understanding of either the AWS and/or Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Advanced knowledge in designing and implementing highly complex secure cloud networking technologies between on-premise and cloud providers.
- Highly skilled with Azure Log Analytics and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Skilled at root cause analysis and able to lead team members in determining root cause.
- Have a good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principals.
- Fully competent and able to effectively serve as a senior level individual contributor with minimal supervision to accomplish project goals and on time delivery of assigned tasks.
Certifications
One or more of the following certifications highly desirable:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…
- Minimum of 10 years industry experience; 15+ years desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience using containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in production.
- Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure; multi-cloud experience with Azure and AWS highly desirable.
- Experience with creating highly available and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Experience deploying solutions behind a major CDN (e.g. Cloudflare, Fastly).
- Experience authoring and exercising disaster recovery plans.
- Experience in technical leadership and mentoring team members.
- Experience with the following AWS Services (either using automation tools or a sysops model):
- IAM
- ECS (EC2 and Fargate) and/or EKS
- EC2 both Linux/Windows
- CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Cloudformation
