Senior Power Settlements and Analytics

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA

 

Position based in Concord or San Rafael, CA however, out of an abundance of caution with COVID-19, this role will start as a remote role. Tentative Start Date late January 2021

It is anticipated that phone screens will be on December 18 & 21, 2020.

Those selected to move forward from a phone screen will be invited to participate in a video anticipated for the week of January 4. Candidates moving forward will participate in a final interview anticipated for the week of January 11

Who you are

You love to think strategically, parallel track multiple work streams efficiently, and use metrics to validate settlements. You are an expert in excel and have a working knowledge of contract settlements, analytics, energy markets, and procurement processes.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Power Settlements and Analytics role, under general direction of the Manager of Power Resources, has responsibility for the conversion of contract settlement terms and conditions through invoice validation in support of MCE's power supply portfolio. A primary responsibility of this role will be to implement and run an innovative energy settlement software system with a technology provider to support MCE's power supply portfolio. Additionally, the position supports MCE’s renewable and storage project evaluation process through quantitative assessments of project offers MCE receives from formal Request for Offers (RFO) and ad hoc offers. The position may assist with portfolio monitoring, optimization, position management, price and risk analysis, in addition to supporting new systems integration and implementation. 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience/Education

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or finance or a closely related field Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience at an electric utility, Community Choice Aggregation program or in a closely related field

  • 5-7 years of experience working directly with power settlements and analytics

  • Experience working with diverse communities and vulnerable customers
