MEI was founded by industry experts with experience deploying over $1B into distributed generation assets totaling more than 300 MW across 20+ state markets. In less than a year, MEI has invested in projects across 12 state markets and has deployed over $150M of capital. This rapid deployment of capital and fast-paced environment requires additional bandwidth in the area of valuations and early-stage underwriting.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role at MEI supporting the business development team and reporting to the Senior Associate who leads all project valuations.
Summary of activities:
Assisting with project due diligence and negotiation from Letter of Intent to final execution of all transactional and project documentation.
Assisting with and at times leading financial modeling of development and M&A opportunities.
Liaising with internal and external parties to expedite closing of all financing activities.
Supporting partners with early stage valuation of development opportunities and drafting of proposals.
Required Experience:
1-3 years of experience at a reputable investment bank, consulting firm or similar role.
Experience in the solar industry is not required.
Background in Mergers & Acquisitions, private equity, construction and real estate is also preferred.
Proven financial modeling skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint.
Ability to work collaboratively with teammates across functions.
Demonstrated ability to perform with a high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness.
Ability to work independently and attention to detail and strong organizational and record keeping skills.
Ability to efficiently analyze and summarize new markets, technologies and financial structures.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
