Product Strategist - Marketing, Branding, and Communications

If you love building great products that meet people's evolving needs, we want to talk to you. We're looking for a product strategist to analyze, improve, and evolve E Source's marketing, branding, and communications products. We provide independent research, information, advisory, and consulting services to utilities, cities, and their partners. Our mission is to build a sustainable future in partnership with our clients.

 

This position can be remote and located anywhere in the United States. 

 

The ideal fit for this role has:

 

  • Marketing, branding, or communications experience and passion. You're a marketer, brand professional, or communications professional with an impressive track record. We'd prefer a candidate with at least five years of experience in one or more of these areas. You love the principles and fundamentals of marketing, branding, and communications, as well as the technologies that have revolutionized these fields.

  • Product strategy experience. You have experience managing complex products and projects from setting the overarching strategy to overseeing its delivery.

  • A strategic, growth-focused mind. You see many paths for growth, but you also know that investing in one thing means not investing in another. You ask great questions and think through the risks and opportunities of decisions.

  • An affinity for data. You seek good, comprehensive data to inform your decisions, but you also acknowledge that sometimes you have to rely on your judgement.

  • Creativity and openness. You aren't afraid to share your ideas for how we might do things differently, and you're comfortable with divergent thinking.

  • Rigor and discipline. You understand that without discipline and process, big ideas go nowhere. You appreciate effective processes and actively work to improve flawed ones. You manage your time well and your coworkers can count on you to do what you say you'll do.

  • Humility and a collaborative attitude. You know there are things you don't know, and that energizes you. You believe two or more brains are better than one, and you proactively seek support, advice, and guidance from others.

  • Industry experience. You have some experience working in or with electric, gas, dual-fuel, or water utilities; or you have a thorough knowledge of the energy industry.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Setting the strategic direction for E Source's marketing, branding, and communications products from the long-term roadmap to monthly deliverable prioritization.

  • Collaborating with the rest of the portfolio strategy team to identify portfolio-wide strategic and tactical priorities.

  • Collaborating with the portfolio strategy team, the customer engagement team, and the customer insights team to pilot new delivery approaches and product concepts.

  • Providing the customer engagement and sales teams with ongoing product training and updates to help them maximize value for our customers.

  • Owning the agendas for our customer-facing events.
