We have an immediate opening for a professional self-starter with a passion for assisting clients with carbon reduction and/or renewable energy goals. The ideal candidate is someone who has prior commercial sales experience and can effectively work independently and in a support role for a senior business development professional.  The role requires a high level of performance and accountability.  You have a track record of demonstrated professional success in client engagement and supporting sales or business development-related efforts and are exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
 
Candidates may live in any state in the Eastern United States (EST)
Permanent remote office location will be considered for well-qualified candidates. 

 
ABOUT THE ROLE

This role offers a great opportunity for an individual on a growth path from inside sales to outside sales and who is looking to expand their business development experience.   The overall goal of the Business Development Coordinator, Renewable Energy & Climate is to support the Eastern region Business Partnerships Director in achieving senior-level relationships with enterprise-class companies.  These efforts will help close business that incorporates the entire suite of 3Degrees climate and renewable energy products and services to deliver on an aggressive quarterly and annual sales plan. In addition to team support, the Business Development Coordinator will also qualify inbound leads and, in some cases, manage the sales process with smaller commercial EAC (Energy Attribute Certificates) transactions. These include environmental commodities (RECs, GOs, IRECs, TIGRs etc.) and carbon offsets. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support a Business Partnerships Director on the Renewable Energy and Climate team in reaching a territory goal. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Extensive prospect research with a focus on company sustainability and energy goals, strategies, global business structure, identification of decision-makers, etc.
    • Direct prospect outreach efforts to generate leads via email, phone, and management of specific outreach and networking efforts. 
    • Event preparation and strategy implementation in support of team objectives.
    • Coordinating RFP and formal proposal responses
    • Contracting and other operational support
    • Leveraging extensive knowledge of 3Degrees commercial product offerings to conduct cursory discovery with appropriate clients to determine possible expansion opportunities
  • Receiving inbound EAC and carbon interest, managing pricing, proposals and contracting for those opportunities that meet a specific set of criteria.
  • Curate market insights across the renewable energy and carbon industries, 3Degrees' competitors, new product offerings and pricing through 3Degrees staff, industry publications, webinars, etc.
  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement, providing input on 3Degrees products, marketing strategies, sales improvements and team collaboration
 
WHAT WE SEEK FROM YOU
 
  • A desire and passion to assist commercial clients in tackling climate change
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships
  • Proven analytical and research skills
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of professional experience and education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in renewable energy, preferably in a B2B sales environment
