 LaFata Contract Services (LCS), a partner company of IMB Development Corporation, has been providing Project and Construction Management support in the electric and gas utility industries. Our Program, Project, and Construction Managers, Engineers, and Utility Support Personnel provide oversight, work activity coordination, and technical support to deliver utility projects in Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.

Summary:

LCS is searching for an experienced human resource professional to perform the administrative generalist responsibilities of the HR function, while supporting an HR agenda aligned with our organizational goals. The primary purpose of this Human Resources position is to execute human resources operational activities for a 130-person company focused on the delivery of Project and Construction Management and Staff Augmentation services to the electric and gas utilities sector.

The position will be responsible for performing a range of general HR functions including employee onboarding and terminations, compensation and benefits administration, employee performance management and retention, employee relations, human resources information systems, and other human resources items for the Company. The ideal candidate will have a proven history handling HR tasks, performing all the administrative and functional HR activities for a growing organization, managing personnel files, and monitoring regulatory compliance items. 

The ideal candidate will also have 5-10 years of experience leading and supervising projects, guiding an organization through evolving HR regulations, leading HR management alignment, performing compensation analysis, and assisting with business continuity and succession planning. The successful candidate will embrace their HR role, have a passion for keeping abreast of HR regulations, and value their primary role in performing the day-to-day HR functions for a small business.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

·        Perform all day-to-day administrative HR functions including systems and records administration

·        Oversee employment regulations including state and federal regulatory compliance

·        Administer benefits and update payroll details with PayChex

·        Coordinate onboarding details and efforts internally and with client staff

·        Administer programs related to employee compensation, benefits, performance management, retention, and employee relations

·        Coordinate background checks and drug tests

·        Schedule and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation

·        Assist with employee performance improvement program development and execution

·        Manage terminations, retirements, and resignations

·        Coordinate benefits enrollment, administration, COBRA coordination

·        Manage all data entry for personnel in systems

·        Manage all employee personnel records

·        Function as the first point of contact for all payroll questions, tax forms, direct deposit, change of address

·        Family leave (FMLA) management and administration

·        Coordinate visa applications with employees and new hires

·        Coordinate updates to the employee handbook and communication of policy and procedure updates

·        Administration of service breaks and leaves for staff augmentation resources

Qualifications:

   Minimum of a four-year degree in relevant field, with a minimum of five years generalist experience in the Human Resources field, and five additional years in a management role.

·        Experience in handling the day-to-day details of Human Resources operations and the administrative processes associated with maintaining employee files, updating payroll details, and meeting state and federal compliance with reporting and data requests.

·        Excellent people skills, a willingness to guide and assist employees with nuanced HR questions and needs, a dedication to customer service, an appreciation for the diverse needs of a growing organization, and a collaborative attitude.

 

Physical Requirements:

·        Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets LCS Requirements

·        Employees must complete a background investigation and successfully complete drug screenings
