The Richmond office of McGuireWoods seeks an experienced associate or counsel for the Regulatory & Compliance Department, on the State Regulatory Team.
McGuireWoods' energy regulatory team have been involved in numerous rate recovery cases, certificates for approval of generation and transmission investment, energy conservation, and integrated resource plan proceedings at the Virginia State Corporation Commission on behalf of our gas and electric utility clients. We are well-versed in issues related to cost of service and rate of return, regulatory accounting, cost allocation, and rate design, as well as the underlying subject matter of these various proceedings. Our attorneys have played an integral role in the strategic development of all aspects of these proceedings from initial application, to trial level administrative litigation, to state Supreme Court appeal.
Qualified candidates will have at least 4 years of practice, preference for any type of state or federal regulatory experience. Preference will be also be given to candidates with an administrative litigation or litigation background, with trial experience. Candidates must possess strong academic credentials as well as demonstrated organization, writing and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with a team.
