Since 1989, the Rhode Island Chapter has completed more than 460 conservation projects, protecting over 33,000 acres.  We partner with local land trusts, federal and state agencies and many individuals to protect our state’s natural areas, restoring the health of our rivers, streams and coastal waters, and inspiring a new generation of environmental leaders. This position is an exceptional career opportunity for a highly motivated, capable, individual interested in joining the world’s leading conservation organization. The Conservation Engineer will work closely with TNC and RI Department of Environmental Management staff to create public access to State and Conservancy properties that are appropriate and compatible with protecting key ecological attributes.

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Civil Engineering professional to play a pivotal role in the design and project management of public access and habitat restoration projects.  The ideal candidate will have a background and track record that includes:

 

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

·         MS or BS degree and certification in related field and 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.

·         Experience in developing and managing multiple projects.

 

·         BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, and 5 years related experience.

·         Registered Professional Engineer in RI; or ability to obtain license within a year.

·         Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for design purposes.

·         Working knowledge of public access civil engineering principles and practices & project management methods.

·         Multi-cultural and cross cultural and multilingual experience appreciated
