Analyst Senior

The Energy Supply Division of Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), seeks an Analyst, Senior for its Fuels
Management Department. GRU is the fifth largest municipal electric utility in Florida.

As a diversified municipal utility provider GRU provides electricity, water, waste water services,
communications/internet services, and natural gas for a local distribution company. The Fuels Management
Department is responsible for the procurement and delivery of heavy fuels oils, light fuel oils, coal, biomass and
natural gas for consumption in GRU generating units; the purchase of environmental commodities (environmental
reagents for power generation) such as pebble lime, urea, ammonia, sodium bicarbonate; and markets and sells
combustion byproducts such as fly ash, bottom ash, and scrubber waste.

The Analyst, Senior (Senior Fuels
Analyst) will function as the department's Biomass Plant Analyst, all department analysts are expected to backup
analysts in other functional areas and participate in various technical and economic analyses. The position reports
to the GRU Fuels Manager.


To be considered for this position you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in
engineering, business, marketing, public administration, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, science or a
related field (as determined by the hiring department) and three years progressively responsible experience in
natural gas operations, utility analysis, fuels/energy analysis, financial analysis, commodity markets, marketing
analysis or a related field. Candidates with no degree will be considered with seven (7) years of progressively
responsible related analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A
valid U.S. Driver License is required at the time of hire; a valid Florida Driver License is required within 30 days of
start date and must be maintained throughout employment in this position.


Analyst ($47,476.00 - $70,014.00 Annually)
The position may also be under filled. The Analyst position requires a bachelor's degree in business or public
administration, finance, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in financial, operational, fuels or marketing
analysis, or six (6) years of related analytical experience (with no degree), or an equivalent combination of
education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Candidates that do not
meet the experience requirements for Analyst, Senior, but do have two (2) years of relevant experience are
encouraged to apply.
