Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) currently has an opening for a qualified Utilities Materials Specialist I to perform limited technical work assisting in the receiving, storing, issuing, and distribution of utilities materials and supplies of a multi-utility warehouse.
To qualify for this position you must have graduated from high school or possess an acceptable equivalently diploma, plus one (1) year of experience in warehousing or stores related work within a computerized inventory environment, as well as, experience in the operation of powered materials handling equipment. Must successfully complete GRU craft training requirements for the Utilities Materials Specialist I as established in the Progression-Through-Training- Program (PTTP).
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Possesses and maintains appropriate valid Florida Driver License.
A CDL instructional permit is required at the time of appointment and a CDL License will be required within six months of date of appointment.
City of Gainesville fork lift certification required within three months of date of appointment.
Must complete GRU craft and safety training requirements for the Utilities Materials Specialist I position as established within the Progression Through - Training Program (PTTP) and departmental standards.
