The Energy Delivery Department of Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is advanced technical work involving assessing, coordinating and implementing training programs to meet the standards and requirements of Energy Delivery Job Knowledge and Proficiency Development for transmission/distribution gas and electric technicians.
Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in operations training or engineering of electric and gas infrastructure at the utility scale.
Or an Associate degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate science or technology discipline and five (5) years of experience in the above areas of work.
Or a Bachelor year degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Engineering or a physical science or technology discipline, and three (3) years of experience in the above areas of work.
A valid U.S. driver's license is required at the time of hire, and a valid State of Florida driver's license is required within 30 days of employment.
Prior experience in delivering training in an operations environment rather than in a classroom is desired. Job duties include but are not limited to developing, documenting, implementing and administering training objectives for new journeyman technicians to meet job knowledge and proficiency requirements; assisting distribution system supervisors and leaders to identify, schedule and record specific training needs for individual division operations; coordinating and developing training curriculum and conducting training; in addition the training coordinator will provide training to achieve proficiency and operational excellence within the Energy Delivery grid system and be responsible for continuous development and improvement of the PTT and SPTT programs along with the Energy Delivery Gas Operator Qualifications( OQ) programs.
