General Purpose of Job: This position is responsible to assist in preparing land acquisitions, easement acquisition, site development, designs, drawings, equipment specifications, material and labor estimates, equipment specifications, preventative maintenance procedures for the construction and maintenance of transmission, substation, and protection & control facilities for SECO Energy, Inc. This position also supports the construction, maintenance and restoration personnel so that their jobs are completed in the safest, cost effective, and reliable manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Calculate Ground Grid impedance and size conductors appropriately.
-Interpret soil borings and mitigate.
-Specify Equipment and fence grounding.
-Design electrical one line diagram.
-Modify specifications for all electrical equipment.
-Modify construction specifications.
-Calculate Fault Current Levels.
-Calculate capacity ratings for all bus, conductors, and jumpers.
-Calculate DC loads, battery and charger sizes.
-Prepare AutoCAD design drawings for approval, prepare issue for bid and issue for construction drawings, and as-built drawings at the end of the project.
-Estimate labor and materials, and order all materials.
-Coordinate bidding out all materials with Purchasing Personnel.
-Coordinate material inventory levels and work order requirements with Warehouse personnel.
-Create, modify, print, and publish AutoCAD drawings for projects and as-built records.
-Design proper clearances to meet or exceed all codes, and equipment movement for construction and maintenance activities.
-Perform Lighting Design.
-Design Lightning Protection.
-Design Conduit system including cable trench.
-Design control wiring taking into consideration burdens, voltage drop, and shielding.
