Edison Electric Institute, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an exceptional opportunity for a Manager, Environmental Programs.  The Manager will work with EEI staff, member companies, federal agencies and other industry groups to develop positions on water, air quality, health and safety, and other policies and regulations affecting the evolution of the domestic electric generation fleet. The key areas include:  water quality and quantity issues under the Clean Water Act and other statutes, air quality and permitting regulations under the Clean Air Act, and other issues as assigned.  Duties include research and analysis as well as writing regulatory comments, white papers, technical and advocacy materials, and presentations.  The Manager will represent EEI at meetings and support EEI outreach activities.  The job requires a degree in energy or environmental studies, policy, natural resource planning, or another relevant field plus at least three years of applicable experience in environmental policy, utility operations or the equivalent at the federal or state level.  Familiarity with the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act and utility permitting issues is preferred.  The successful applicant will have outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
