Advance your career by providing on-site project engineering and field engineering support for our Classic Seven Decommissioning Project!
This large-scale project includes the site preparation that’s performed prior to the cessation of operations for seven of our smaller coal-fired generating units, preparation for these units to become “cold & dark” after cessation, and then the subsequent abatement, dismantling, demolition and restoration of the sites. As Decommissioning Project Engineer, the work involves: engineering, procurement and construction activities; working collaboratively with contractor, contractor project personnel and the Plant; ensuring the design complies with applicable codes, standards and performance expectations; monitoring field sequencing and demolition; documenting and recommending field design changes where appropriate; ensuring testing validates critical design characteristics; and reviewing record documents for fidelity with any installed and remaining configurations on site.
Our ideal candidate qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering; Professional Engineering license is preferred

7 or more years of project engineering experience with the demonstrated capability to contribute to large scale projects or multiple medium scale projects

Ability to interface effectively with personnel from the plant as well as across various engineering, equipment manufacturer and contractor organizations

Ability to review and understand design specifications and drawings and verify completeness both in design and installation

Ability to manage contracts as well as understand scheduling concepts (logic, manpower loadings, baseline schedule, critical path, earned value reporting, etc.)

Willingness and ability to accept and adapt to change such as frequently changing priorities and a variety of job assignments

Ability to travel to job sites and project meetings; with occasional overnight stays out of state
