Gainesville Regional Utilities’ Energy Supply Department is seeking a Production Manager II to perform managerial work in the operation and maintenance of an electric generating station with an installed capacity of approximately 112 megawatts or greater and the capability of producing 1,000,000 megawatt hours or greater annually and of a geographically separate Central Utility Plant (CUP). This position is responsible for all plant activities related to the operation and maintenance of fossil fuel steam-electric generating units and combustion turbines and/or other Central Utility Plant (CUP) equipment
A typical work day may include, but not be limited to managing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, fiscal and administrative functions of production asset; assuring conformance with plant administrative policies and procedures; formulating and directing implementation of plant operating and maintenance policies and procedures.
To be considered for this position you must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in engineering or related subject, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in operation and maintenance of high pressure steam electric generating plants, including three (3) years in plant engineering with project management experience, or other plant supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Notes:
A valid Florida Driver License is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
Requires pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Must have thorough knowledge of machines, equipment, materials, and industry recognized operating and maintenance policies, procedures, and practices related to fossil fired electric generating plants and/or CUP's.
Must have thorough knowledge of principles of electric power generation, related equipment and facilities operating, maintenance, and performance criteria.
