The Electrical Engineer applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields; makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions.
Scope of duties and responsibilities includes:
Maintaining and developing technical specifications for equipment and materials suitable for applications in Consumers Energy's transmission and high voltage distribution substations
Working with team members to procure equipment and materials to meet project needs in regard to scope, schedule, and cost
Maintaining and developing, with various stakeholders, internal substation design standard documents
Directly resolving or assisting others in resolving, issues related to equipment and material availability and quality
Evaluating new substation equipment and equipment suppliers
Job Requirements
Our successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; focus and/or interest in power and machinery preferred; advanced degree is a plus
Existing Michigan PE licensure or demonstrated aptitude and intent (e.g., FE) to become licensed
Strong technical, organizational, time management, and team skills
Innovative, strategic, collaborative, and customer centric approach
