GRU is seeking an individual to manage the Power Systems Operations area. This position is responsible for managerial and technical work involving the operation and control of electric system generation dispatch, transmission coordination, interconnected operations and interchange functions.
To be considered you must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, finance or related subject, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in electric utility generation, power exchange, and/or interconnected utility operations and transmission operations, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Experience in electric utility generation, power interchange and interconnected utility and transmissions operations
Demonstrated knowledge of server based network systems and Automatic Generation Control and Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA)
Demonstrated knowledge of power production facilities including coal, gas and oil fired plants; including fuels management and emissions control systems knowledge
Leadership skills experience to supervise System Operations staff, control center operations and coordination of daily activities with production facilities and external entities
Demonstrated knowledge in economic analyses for developing production costs for economic generation dispatch planning and marketing
Preference may be given to applicants having a North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) certification or equivalent
