Supports the execution of the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program’s (EEP) marketing outreach and communication strategy. Fosters a positive image of Nicor Gas and the EEP Program. Leverages interactions with customers to increase awareness of EEP and help meet program goals and objectives; educate customers on program offerings; increase rebate completion rates; and provide financing options. Interactions will include participation in marketing and outreach events (i.e. information booths), resolving escalations, effectively assisting on inbound and outbound calls, emails and other communications.

Coordinates with Marketing and Communication in staffing to support marketing campaigns through various channels and outreach projects.

Supports EEP Program Managers with their initiatives. Cross trains to learn all areas in Energy Efficiency. Writes and delivers training communications.

Seeks and optimizes opportunities to support Customer Development and other key stakeholders areas through customer interactions.

This role will be an integral part in customer facing initiatives.

Functional Expertise:

  • Responsible for fully understanding all programs offerings, rebate processing functions and financing options.
  • Perform quality audits and provide feedback.
  • Ability to write and deliver training communications.
  • Optimize use of technical software and best practices to provide solutions.
  • Provide options and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Business Acumen:

  • Ensure customer inquiries are fully resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer escalations.
  • Optimize opportunities to educate customers on other program offerings and solutions, and involve appropriate human resources and technical tools.
  • Seek and optimize opportunities to support EEP Program Managers, Customer Development and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing to support marketing campaigns through various channels and outreach projects.

Engagement:

  • Effectively engage with customers to educate and provide solutions and options.
  • Optimize personal interactions both internally and externally.
  • Effectively engage and support EEP Program Managers with their goals and initiatives.
  • Support marketing campaigns through various channels and outreach projects.
  • Foster relationships with external partners.
  • Foster a positive image of Nicor Gas.

Driving Results:

  • Leverage customer interactions to increase awareness of EEP and help meet program goals and objectives; educate customers on program offerings; and provide finance options.
  • Ability to access data, interpret results and provide recommendations to drive participation and reach goals.
  • Increase rebate completion rates.
  • Deliver actionable results to support meeting program goals and objectives.

Education, Certifications/Licenses:/ /


  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or 60 credit hours towards a Bachelor’s degree and 2 yrs work experience
    • Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline

Related Work Experience:

  • Office setting with some community and outreach involvement, including some after hour event participation
