Work on the commissioning of electrical, I&C and mechanical portions of project testing and startup at our Ludington Pumped Storage Plant.

We’ll rely on your expertise, leadership and coordination between all disciplines of engineering, project management, contractors and equipment suppliers for the commissioning, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering of plant electrical, I&C and mechanical systems. These projects are focused on system upgrades and various machinery health and condition monitoring projects, aimed at improving plant productivity and reliability.

Scope of activities and responsibilities:

  • Preparing comprehensive commissioning plans and test packages for electrical, I&C and mechanical activities
  • Developing and executing test procedures and reports for apparatus, cables, control circuits, motors, protective relaying, etc.
  • Calibrating instruments; stroking of valves, dampers, etc; and functional testing of control loops, etc.
  • Providing close coordination of Project Managers, ESD personnel, plant engineers, plant operations, outage managers, other service departments, A/E's, contractors and vendor representatives
  • Supervising both employees and contractors

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years o f related experience OR an Associate degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience

  • Electrical substation design, construction, and testing experience

  • A broad range of experience in commissioning electrical systems and an understanding of I&C and mechanical disciplines would be a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong safety background

  • Previous consulting experience preferred
