Help us with lifecycle performance monitoring, testing and evaluation of Smart Energy technologies.
Working within the Metering Technology Center as our subject matter expert, you will be responsible for prudent standards based testing and evaluation of Smart Energy metering (AMI & AMR) control and communication devices. This will include creating, managing, and executing test plans for validation of Smart Energy Metering device conformance to technical standards, functional requirements and reliability expectations.
Scope of duties and responsibilities:
- Determine statistically relevant sample sizes for testing, use statistical data to derive test conclusions
- Evaluate, design, and commission test equipment, software and test fixtures required to perform all necessary testing/evaluations
- Coordinate testing with in-house technicians and external resources; compile and/or approve test reports; review and evaluate test reports/data
- Direct root cause analysis investigations of device failures and issues
- Support and participate in the development of Quality Management System processes as well as ensure compliance
Job Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess:
-
3–10 years of related exempt work experience with electronic systems and/or RF communications; experience with natural gas metering preferred

Capabilities in test system design, programming and integration
-
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and apply industry standards related to Electricity Metering (ANSI C12, IEC 62053), Gas Metering (B109), Electromagnetic Compatibility (IEC 61000-4, IEEE 37.90/62.41), Environmental Testing and Reliability

Working knowledge of three phase electricity and safety practices

Strong teamwork, communication, supervisory, teaching, and technical skills
