Become our subject matter expert (SME) specific to BOP/Aux supporting the Company's generating assets!
This position will provide engineering and technical support for the Company's generating assets. This includes providing engineering and technical support for the planning, budgeting and execution of preventative and periodic maintenance outages, ensuring the Company's compliance with the equipment supplier's operating and maintenance requirements.
Scope of duties and responsibilities:
- Implementing fleet-wide equipment supplier product revisions; evaluating and implementing equipment supplier technical bulletins, equipment upgrades and updates
- Managing outside consultants in performing root cause analysis for component failures; participating, reviewing and evaluating equipment supplier performed root cause analyses
- Facilitating and coordinating equipment supplier service engineers
- Conducting or facilitating equipment specific training classes for operating and maintenance personnel
- Providing engineering and technical support for determining spare part stocking levels necessary to support the Company's reliability goals
- Roughly 50% in-state travel for plant equipment inspections and interfacing with O&M personnel and contractors
Job Requirements
Qualifications include:

5–10 years of relevant work experience in the power generation industry

A strong background in power plant pumps, fans, compressors and pulverizers is highly desired

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred; registration as a licensed Professional Engineer also preferred

Well organized, task oriented and driven to improve existing business processes

Experienced in forecasting strategic, tactical and budgetary business needs

Passionate about Safety and Quality
Primary work location is Bay City or West Olive, MI, but the position supports generating assets at all Consumers Energy sites.
