Do you have experience in the maintenance and/or operations of High Voltage Distribution (HVD)/ electric distribution substations?
In this role, you will provide leadership for our Utility Operations – Electric group, performing maintenance, construction and repairs of all substation and metropolitan underground equipment in the downtown Flint area, and may be required to fill in on a temporary basis for other substation supervisors as needed.
Among your primary responsibilities you will:
- Plan and execute substation and equipment work orders
- Coordinate with various internal departments and provide weekly work schedules
- Interface with our large commercial, industrial and metro underground customers
- Respond to customer emergencies regarding equipment failures and outages
- Promote and support safe practices, procedures and employee behaviors
Qualifications for this position include:

Knowledge and experience in the maintenance and/or operations of substation equipment is highly desirable

Effective planning and administrative skills for scheduling and execution of substation maintenance and construction work plans, with ability to complete complex tasks as a team player
-
Strong leadership skills to direct, motivate and develop employees
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-
Ability to understand and administer the provisions of the working agreement
-
Willingness to take on call assignments, work scheduled overtime and be able to respond to emergency situations
