Apply your expert supply chain business skills to support our Fossil Fuel Supply Department with purchasing, contract and reporting activities for coal, oil, and gas supplies to the Consumers Energy generation fleet.
In this role, you will support several internal business functions such as negotiating and administering fuel purchase contracts, transportation contracts and railcar lease contracts, as well as managing the maintenance of approximately 3,000 railcars used to transport coal. Working with Fuel Accounting, Corporate Records and some plant personnel and outside vendors, you will conduct purchasing and invoice processing activities in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and may be tasked with completing some SOX testing.
Scope of responsibilities will include:

Monthly participation in the Accelerated Financial Close
-
Making updates to our contract management and fuel accounting software system

Management of remittance accounts for our railcar fleet

Preparation of some government and internal reports related to costs and quantity of fuels received

Auditing railcar repair billing

Ordering payment requests and purchase orders in SAP

Preparing occasional billing requests
Our successful candidate will possess:
-
Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Business is preferred) or extensive experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance

Self motivated and dedicated with the ability to collaborate with multiple parties and resolve issues independently

Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with SAP databases also desirable
