As System Control Superintendent/Assistant Restoration Manager, you will have statewide responsibility for monitoring back shift operations of the sub-transmission system and distribution system substations and lines for both normal and emergency/restoration conditions, including compliance with all NERC standards. Utilizing advanced capabilities, you will focus on the safe, effective and efficient execution of day-to-day operations, along with applying longer term improvement initiatives and tactics.
Scope of responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong operational leadership to ensure public and employee safety, customer focus and electric system integrity
- Managing/supervising a team of System Controllers/Lead System Controllers/Operations Engineers during back shift operations
- Interfacing with all organizations involved in electric system operations, including customers, governmental/regulatory agencies and transmission providers
- Ensuring safe/effective restoration practices focused on achieving reliability/response goals
- Enforcing policies, standards, procedures and processes governing the operation of the sub-transmission/distribution systems, including restoration activities
Our ideal candidate qualifications include:
- Associates degree in a technical field with degree focus in math, chemistry, physics, computer-aided design (CAD), electronics, computer science or statistics
- 15 years of experience in electric distribution-related operations; 5 years of experience in operational supervision
- Knowledge of electric power distribution systems including equipment functions and dependencies, switching/tagging procedures, and service restoration organization and processes
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, problem solving and decision making skills
- Exceptional crisis/emergency management skills
- Willingness to work unusual or extended hours including weekends
- Ability obtain NERC (RC) certification within 3 months
