As a member of the Business Services Facilities Engineering and Design Team you will work with in-house Architects and Engineers to design technical solutions to manage the corporation's electrical system assets. If you are a self-starter, are process oriented and enjoy solving problems in a team environment, this may be your ideal career opportunity!
Primary duties generally include:
- Analysis and design of commercial building electrical systems (30%)
- Drawing and specification preparation and reviews (20%)
- Consulting, troubleshooting and directing repair of existing equipment (10%)
- Electrical system inspections and assessments (10%)
- Life cycle cost evaluations and new product evaluations (5%)
- Budgeting and scheduling activities (5%)
- Preparation and review of preventative maintenance procedures (2%)
- Other duties as related to business needs
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Michigan Professional Engineer license and LEED Accredited Professional are highly desirable
- 3 years of relevant engineering experience; experience in light industrial, commercial building systems and the National Electric Code are preferred
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Computer savvy is a must with proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD highly desired
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% to facilities located throughout Michigan
This position reports to the Jackson, MI headquarters office, and preference will be given to a candidate who can work at this location. However we are willing to offer flexibility to work from another Service Center located within Michigan.
