Advance your career by leading an electric distribution crew responsible for safe, efficient and cost effective construction, metering and storm restoration projects.
Supervising a team of 12-20 bargaining unit electric distribution, transmission or metering staff, you will be responsible for managing successful headquarter business operations in a cost effective fashion while maintaining a safe work environment. The work involves a mixture of standard to advanced supervisory and operating responsibilities, including management of complex projects.
Related responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and monitoring electric distribution employees
- Planning and managing the scope, schedule and cost of assigned construction projects
- Developing direct reports in both business knowledge and technical skills
- Initiating and leading change to improve results
- Administering the Working Agreement while dealing effectively with local union leadership
- Mandatory on-call assignments and working extended hours during restoration activities
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- High School diploma/GED (required); Bachelors degree in a related field or electric lines on-the-job training is highly preferred
- Typically 3 years of related field utility experience, with in-depth knowledge of electric distribution operations and construction
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities; ability to lead change efforts in a competitive business environment, as well as direct company and non-company resources in both routine and emergency operations
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of safe work practices and procedures
- Availability and willingness to work off-hours as required
There are three positions available, one in each location: Lansing, Ludington and Greater Grand Rapids area, Michigan.
