At this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unique and controversial engineering problems which may have an effect on major company programs and projects, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. You will serve in a supervisory/managerial capacity over a large group of engineers and technical employees (7 direct reports and approximately 35 staff total), while directing large and important engineering projects and/or a number of small projects with many complex features.
Leading a Substation Design & Standards group, you will have responsibility for:
- HVD and distribution substation design
- Substation electrical standards development
- Substation civil/structural standards development
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering
- Typically 10+ years of applied exempt engineering working experience
- An understanding of substation design and project management
- A working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and other applicable industry codes
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, meet project schedules and budget, and oversee other engineers, drafters, technicians and contractors
- PC proficiency
