Help us keep the plant humming along by assisting us with the mechanical, instrumentation & controls and electrical portions of project testing and startup of equipment, installations and systems!
Utilizing a broad range of mechanical experience and a solid understanding of I&C, you will perform startup, testing, troubleshooting, engineering and coordination to support project construction and turnover activities. This position is based out of our JH Campbell Plant site located near Holland, MI. This will involve work on all mechanical equipment and installations including piping systems, pumps and compressors, heat exchangers, electrical and steam heaters, dampers with electrical and pneumatic drives, control valves, etc.
Among your typical duties you will:
- Test and commission new equipment and/or systems
- Troubleshoot operating equipment
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (a related bachelor's or associates degree in engineering or non-engineering can be used with appropriate years of experience)
- 5-10 years experience in heavy industrial or a power plant setting with experience with pumps, compressors and piping systems, etc., process measurement instrumentation, DCS, PLCs, and medium/low voltage controls,etc.
- Fluent in reading all types of mechanical drawings and mechanical equipment documents
- Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills in a matrix environment
- Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed
