Are you ready to take responsibility for the billing accuracy and analysis of the electric metering devices that serve over 1.8 million electric residential, commercial and industrial Consumer Energy customers?
In this critical role, with responsibility for metering devices that generate over $4 billion in company revenues. you will provide leadership and oversight of the electric engineering technical functions within the Metering Technology Center (MTC). This would include the procurement, calibration, repair and exchange criteria of all metering devices to minimize revenue losses due to meter inaccuracies.
Your primary duties will involve:
- Leadership of the electric test facility which includes meter test boards, transformer test & repair, performing new product (metering devices) technical assessments, lifecycle testing, etc.
- Supporting the MV90 Industrial Meter Reading System
- Acting as a metering Subject Matter Expert on field work methods and standards, and all High Voltage Distribution (HVD) and Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) projects involving customer metering devices
- Preparing the MTC and field operation for Smart Grid technology deployment and future job activities
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial)
- 3–5 years of engineering experience; experience in LVD systems with a higher emphasis on electric metering preferred
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and apply MPSC Technical Standards relating to metering and industry standards
- Demonstrated leadership ability in the areas of vision, innovation, and problem solving
- Strong teamwork, people management and negotiation skills
- Managerial ability with budget development, improvement plans, financial and work load planning
