This is an exciting time to join our team in the development of wind energy from the development and construction of our wind farm through the long-term operation, maintenance and engineering support of our Lake Winds™ Energy Park (LWEP) and Cross Winds™ Energy Park (CWEP). Your primary goal: providing technical direction and consultation, condition assessments and run/repair/replace decisions to improve Safety, Quality and Equipment and Plant Reliability.
Among your typical duties you will:
- Review and support the development of wind turbine technology at CWEP in 2014
- Oversee the start-up and initial operation phase of the individual wind generation projects during CWEP construction in 2015
- Provide ongoing engineering and technical support at LWEP and CWEP
- Manage the relationship and be our primary interface with the turbine supplier for submitting warranty claims
Qualifications for this position include:
- The position requires an ABET accredited Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, however we will consider other ABET accredited Engineering degrees; registration as a licensed Professional Engineer preferred
- 5–10 years of relevant work experience in the wind industry with either a wind turbine generator supplier (OEM) as a field service engineer or with an owner/operator of wind farms, with experience in the operation and maintenance of utility-scale wind turbine generators
- Experienced in forecasting strategic, tactical and budgetary business needs; driven to improve existing business processes
- Exceptional communication skills, task-oriented, very organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
- Willingness and availability for approx. 50% in-state travel and occasional out of state travel
- Physical ability to climb fixed-position ladders or motorized equipment to wind turbine towers as necessary
Primary work location is negotiable. Successful candidate must be able to travel to the CWEP and LWEP parks in Mason and Tuscola counties frequently.
