You have extensive engineering and project management experience, proven leadership qualities and familiarity with retrofit construction in heavy industry.
In collaboration with your team of engineers, construction managers, testing personnel, project close-out specialists and cost and schedule personnel, you will spearhead large capital and maintenance projects up to $20M at our generating plants in the western half of Michigan.
Among your related duties you will:
- Provide leadership and management over power plant projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million in value
- Address issues of project scope, safety, quality, scheduling and cost
- Provide ethical leadership within the Consumers Energy code of conduct
- Serve as the customer interface through direct, high quality communication
- Engage your staff as a supervisor, coach, mentor and subject expert
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 12+ years applied engineering or equivalent experience, including project management experience; Project Management certification is preferred, or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
- Field experience in a heavy industrial setting is required; experience in retrofit construction projects and power plant experience is preferred
- Must know the "business of project management" and have good project management leadership skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of staff and with customers
- Travel to job locations within western Michigan will be required
